The International Conference is included in a larger picture – the International Youth Summit composed by 40 youngsters from the 8 countries involved, from 10th to 17th March 2013.

This International Youth Summit will happen in Portugal (Vila Nova de Famalicão) and during the meeting in Portugal, the youngsters will decide what local actions they would like to engage and undertake in order to contribute to the recognition of youth work and volunteering. The 40 youngsters in this event are coming from the 8 organizations involved and therefore are acquainted with the importance of youth work and volunteering that they will discover and share with the other partners in the project.

The sharing of different realities and possibilities of youth work and volunteering will allow identifying the strong points and the added-value of volunteering and youth work in the lives and development of young people. With this in mind, the youngsters and youth workers will work on the possibilities of recognition of youth work and volunteering at local/national level during the event in Portugal and from March to July 2013 will implement their action plan (Local RED action). 



​For the International Youth Summit in Portugal, the activities foreseen are:

- Brainstorming on youth work and volunteering;
- Sharing realities of youth work and volunteering in the different countries;
- Identifying possible actions to contribute to the recognition of youth work and volunteering;
- Select and agree on the national strategy of each country to contribute to the recognition of youth work and volunteering.
